Dota 6.58 Beta - Storm Spirit Panda Remake Preview

IceFrog News At last, Dota 6.58 Beta legal information is out. This info is come from IceFrog directly so you don't have to worry that it's fake. The next hero to be changed on Dota-Allstars 6.58 is (like the title said), Storm Panda. Icefrog didn't release his changes yet, but he give several picture about his new skills. I guess he want to make us more excited ^_^

Wow, i think he will have a lot of skills remake. Unfortunately, IceFrog don't give any hint about his new skills. But this make me more excited waiting for Dota 6.58 :)

Dota Freak is showing us the new skill of Storm Spirit,

Skill 1 Static Remnant
creates an invisible immobile copy of storm spirit that deals damage when enemy touches. Reveals the fog of war 800 aoe around the copy.
70 manacost

skill 2 Electric fortex
Binds enemy with electricity, pulling it very slowly to storm but storm moves slow to. last maybe 2 seconds.
110 manacost(if im not mistaken)

skill 3 overload
Not sure about this but every time i cast spell, the overload triggers. It gives the aoe slow and extra damage.

Ultimate Ball Lightning
0 cooldown blink. Cut trees around storm as he land. Very mana consuming. with full mana he could blink through half of the map. 50 damage for every enemies that he passes through when using this.

I don't if it's true or not because i haven't received the map. But by looking in the pictures, it looks real. I hope you send me the Dota 6.58 beta map soon so i can confirm it :)

Dota 6.58 Item Remake - Divine Rapier?

Dota Recipe Guide Well, IceFrog is leaking another changes on Dota 6.58. On his another blog post, he is clearly said that there will be hero remake - Storm Spirit Remake - and item remake on Dota 6.58. But he didn't say which item(s) will be altered. But from my personal point of view, i have some strong candidates.

That will be:

  1. Divine Rapier - Strongest candidate. Well, when was your last time you this item in your game. I even forgot when.. ~_~"
  2. Blade Mail - Very situational items. The only condition i saw this is when Centaur Warchief wear it to rape Mortred
  3. Cranium Basher - Popular items on Pubs. But i never saw this in competitive game..
Of course that's only my personal opinion :) What about you? Have any guesses which item will be changed? Share it here :)

Dota 6.58 Got Delayed (a bit..)

IceFrog News Wow, actually IceFrog was planned to release Dota 6.58 on New Year Day. But some bugs prevent him to do so :( But rest assured, he said he will release it in few days. So hold tight guys, because there will be item remake and hero remake awaited on Dota 6.58.

DotA has come a long way in the past year. With more and more users playing and providing feedback every day, I'm sure that 2009 will be another good year for DotA. One of the things I will focus on this year will be improving the quality of existing content. I will certainly still be adding new content, but I will also spend more effort to make the current game play experiences more enjoyable for all.

I have been working hard on 6.58 and was hoping to complete it for New Year's Day, but I don't think I will be able to finish it in time. There are still some issues that need further testing. I want to make sure the quality is high, so I think I will need at least a few more days to work on it. This update will have some frequently requested hero and item remakes, balance improvements, some bug fixes and more. I have also spent a lot of time on core code rewrites for further performance improvements so that players with older machines can also fully enjoy the game.

If there is anything specific you want me to make sure I address before 6.58 is released, let me know. Once I get this update released, I will probably be able to do a little more blogging and another round of Q&A.

Dota 6.57b AIPlus - Dota-Allstars 6.57b AIPlus v1.52 Revision 2 Download

This map is updated to the latest version and more importantly it fixes the bugs with Alleria the Windrunner that crashes the games on the previous Dota 6.56 AIplus. Here what BuffMePlz said about his latest map:


DotA Allstars 6.57b AI+ 1.52 Revision 02
This is a port of RGB's AI+ 1.52 (originally written for DotA Allstars 6.48b).

It behaves the same as the original AI, and has only been updated to account for balance changes, new item recipes, and most new features. As such, some new content does not work fully with the AI yet.

Warning: There is no AI for Lifestealer, Invoker, Clockwerk Goblin, Admiral Proudmoore nor Windrunner. They will get items but will neither use nor learn their skills.

KNOWN BUGS
* AI don't properly react to -nb, -nm and -nt modes.
* Some exploits that should have been fixed are still in the game, just don't use them. If you really want to cheat against AI, just use -test.

Commands that have yet to be implemented properly:

* -ah
* -afk
* -kickafk
* -rd (the new one in 6.53, -rd is in the game but done the same way pre-6.53)
* -cm

Dota 6.58 - Dota-Allstars 6.58 At last, Dota 6.58 Beta - Dota-Allstars 6.58 Beta Map is Leaked! Thanks to Rizal who give me the Dota 6.58 Beta download link and various people trying and providing the changelogs. In this post i will compile it into single post. Enjoy!

Dota 6.58 Beta 33 Changelogs:
Blademail
Required Chainmail, Broadsword dan Robe the Magi
5 armor, 22 damage, 10 intelligent, Damage Return (active)

Cranium Basher: Required Javelin, Gauntlets of Stength dan Cranium Basher recipe
30 damage, 3 strength, Bash

Divine Rapier
+200 Damage
Required Sacred Relic dan Demon Edge
No longer need claymore to build
Still drops on death

Monkey King bar got +5 damage

Dirge the Undying remake
1st skill: Decay
Minus 4 str for 30 sec
Mana cost : 70
Damage 30/60/90/120 500 AoE
Cooldown : 11/9/7/5 sec

2nd skill: Parasite
hooklike skill, fires a bug towards point, infests first enemy it touches, does dmg over time, and when the unit with the parasite dies, it jumps to another unit in range.

3rd skill: Tombstone
summons a tombstone that spawns zombies, max of 6 at lvl 4, the zombies seem to just keep comming till the time is up or the tombstone dies, but max of 6.

Ultimate: Flesh Golem
turns Dirge into a Flesh Golem, with a passive AoE plague.... dont know if it has the same effect as before, but any unit that dies under the effect of plague heal dirge like his old zombies did

Storm Spirit remake
Electric Vortex
-looks like it drags the character it is cast on to the casting point, which is a pretty short range from SS

Static Remant
-leaves a copy of him sitting in a spot, only one at a time. when a character approaches, it attacks them

Overload
-After any spell SS casts, he gets the same overload as last game (it looks like at least). No longer based on how many attacks you do.

Ball Lightning
-can warp anywhere in the map, essentially a blink whose mana is dependent upon how much you want to spend. Much quicker cast time than his last ulti. Does damage depend on how far you blink.

Rikimaru +2.2 agility, down from 2.9
Bloodseeker's Rupture cooldown reduced: 100 sec --> 70 sec
Silencer Curse of the Silent is now AoE
Drow's Markmanship Agility Increased(12/24/36->15/30/45)
Demon Edge cost change (2600->2400)
Buriza recipe cost change (1000->1200)
Necrolyte now has HeartStopper Aura, instead of Diffusion Aura.
BloodSeeker base Str buffed (18->23)
Doom cooldown buffed(180/150/120 -> 160/130/100)
Kunkka's GhostShip MS Bonus nerfed. (30% MS -> 15% MS)
Techies renamed to Squee spleen and spoon
Lion had his tint removed
Lion's Projectile changed to a Ram's head
